Jake Phillips

Born in Leicester UK, Jake began studying the violin at the age of 8. He attended the Leicestershire Arts music school, eventually leading all of the ensembles within this organisation. He went on to study in Manchester at the Royal Northern College of Music with Benedict Holland, and then at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Alexandre Zapolski.
As a chamber musician Jake has performed all over Europe. He was first violinist in the Atesh quartet and recieved coaching from some of the most eminent chamber musicians, including Gabor Takacs-Nagy, Petr Prause, Peter Cropper, Ralph de Souza, Miguel da Silva and Levon Chilingirian. With this group and other ensembles Jake gave many recitals across europe, also taking in regular masterclasses, courses and festivals.
In addition to frequent solo and chamber music performances, Jake plays regularly with the BBC Philharmonic symphony orchestra and the Halle orchestra in the UK, and in Copenhagen with the Copenhagen Philharmonic.
He plays a fine violin by Pierre Lindstrom.
